Family’s home taken over by 28 stone pet sow they thought was a micro-pig

A FAMILY has given its home over to a 28st sow they bought in 2014 thinking she was a micro-pig.
Nigel Graham, 57, got Grace as a birthday gift for wife Sam, 48, who is allergic to cats and dogs.
They were told she would grow to 5st but she is six times that, 5ft long and eats £20 of food a week.
Toilet-trained Grace sleeps in the living room of the couple’s cottage and sits with them on the sofa to watch TV.
The hog even has its own pig-flap which Nigel cut into a side door to allow Grace to come and go as she pleases.
Nigel, of Malvern, Worcs, said: “Her parents were about knee high, which is the actual size of a fully grown micro-pig.
“They were fed a couple of pig pellets a day, whereas Grace gets three big meals a day and treats.
“I think that’s contributed to her size, really. Plus she get loads of exercise as well. So she is sturdy and powerful.”

He added: “She’s our pet and we love her and I class her as a third daughter to be honest. She’s part of the family.
“It’s great. She’s not like a pig. It’s no different than a dog or a cat, in fact she is cleaner than one of my daughters and shows me more love.
“Bacon was my favourite meat but since Grace has joined the family, we don’t eat it anymore as it just wouldn’t feel right."
