Arsenal double their lead just three minutes after Jurrien Timber's opener!

    More below:

  • PSV 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal break the deadlock after just 18 minutes with former Ajax star and Netherlands international Jurrien Timber.

Leandro Trossard feeds Declan Rice in the area and the midfielder takes it away from goal before hanging up a ball into the far post.

But Timber is there and hits the back of the net from close range.

Arsenal's Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven in the Last 16 has just kicked off!

  • Martin Zubimendi profile

Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi is aggressive, assertive. A snarling, hungry athlete of a man who covers every blade of grass competing for space, the ball or a well-timed tackle.

A modern-day Claude Makelele with a sprinkling of Sergio Busquets. Put simply, Zubimendi is the cog between the defence and the midfield – something Manchester United will find out in the Europa League.

And right now in Europe, he is the closest thing to Manchester City’s Rodri.

In the Euro 2024 final against England back in July, Spain were rocked by Rodri’s injury that forced him off at half-time. And yet, his absence was barely felt with Zubimendi on to replace him.

He is used to pressure. Even with the eyes of the world on him days after performing his Liverpool U-turn, he did not miss a single training session, even taking part in a team photo shoot.

He has also had to overcome the odds to even reach this position. In his early years at Sociedad, the coaches were initially not keen on him, favouring other players and only signing him up at the last minute – a decision that proved wise.

Over a decade on and he is positioned to light up another big occasion, showing United – and the rest of England – what they can expect should he grace the Prem next season.

  • Ticket price increase

Arsenal's ticket prices will INCREASE next season.

The Gunners are set to announce an inflationary price rise of around 3.7 per cent for the 2025/26 campaign.

In comparison, Prem title rivals Liverpool, as well as West Ham and Brentford, have frozen their ticket costs for next term.

The decision has not been taken lightly by Arsenal, holding lengthy and extensive talks over the past two months with seven different supporter groups who make up part of their fan advisory board.

However, the North Londoners will offer a retention on senior citizen prices, increase concessions for young people, commit to the community in its 40th anniversary and have the option of a greater choice and flexibility on season tickets.

It comes as the Football Supporters’ Association have written to the Premier League to urge them to introduce a division-wide price freeze as part of their ‘Stop Exploiting Loyalty’ campaign.

PSV Eindhoven subs: Karsdorp, Odispo, Bakayoko, Drommel, Driouech, Veerman, Schiks, Babadi, Land, Nagalo.

Here's who Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta chose for his starting line-up at PSV Eindhoven:

Arsenal XI: Raya, Timber, Lewis-Skelly, Saliba, Gabriel, Partey, Rice, Odegaard, Nwaneri, Trossard, Merino.

  • The case of Zubimendi

Last summer, Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi was seriously tempted by a move to the Premier League.

Liverpool were keen to give new manager Arne Slot the midfielder he craved – an impressive ball-playing, tackle-crunching Spaniard who has been tipped to be the next Rodri.

Ultimately however, Slot and Liverpool were turned down, with Zubimendi persuaded to remain at his beloved Sociedad by his coach Imanol Alguacil and sporting director Roberto Olabe.

They reportedly did so by preparing a presentation on the pros and cons of a Prem switch, pulling on the 26-year-old’s San Sebastian heartstrings with pictures of his favourite local tapas restaurants and mountain hikes he enjoys in the Basque Country.

Zubimendi claimed recently: “It is where I feel most comfortable”.

It worked, but what Alguacil and Olabe did not anticipate was a similar approach by Arsenal and boss Mikel Arteta – a Basque boy convincing another Basque boy to make London his new home next season for £51million. Arsenal appear to have got their man, who will face Manchester United in the Europa League.

  • Arsenal predicted XI

Here's how Arsenal's line-up could look at PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League's Last 16 encounter:

Arsenal predicted line-up: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Nwaneri, Trossard, Merino.

  • Havertz injury latest

Arsenal star Kai Havertz has been pictured wearing a knee brace after suffering a season-ending injury.

Havertz picked up a hamstring problem last month and has since undergone surgery.

The versatile forward posted a picture from his hospital bed sporting a knee brace and he was seen with it on again as he posed for a photo with a friend.

The Germany international also remains on crutches, with them placed next to him in the snap captioned "road to recovery".

The pic was uploaded by his pal Senyo, who runs a male grooming business and a barber shop in London's iconic Portobello Road.

Senyo has a close relationship with several past and present Chelsea stars.

  • Chelsea signing Arsenal star's cousin

Chelsea are close to signing Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhaes's cousin.

The Blues have struck an £11.5million deal with Corinthians for Denner Evangelista.

The 17-year-old will sign a seven-year contract and make the move to Stamford Bridge when he turns 18 next year.

Denner, who is a left-back, is yet to make a senior appearance for the Brazilian giants.

  • Kolo Toure Exclusive

Arsenal legend Kolo Toure says fasting and playing games made him psychologically stronger during the month of Ramadan.

It’s that time of the year again when Muslim players in the Premier League will have to abstain from food and water during daylight hours - the period will cover from March 1 to March 30.

The thing is, it’s strange and hard to explain, but it made me feel psychologically very strong, and as the month went on, I got even fitter.

I think it’s very easy now, with all the great support that clubs provide their players - it’s amazing.

  • Kroenke set for Arteta talks

Arsenal co-chairman Josh Kroenke has jetted in for talks with manager Mikel Arteta as the Spanish tactician looks to salvage his season after the elimination from the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

The Gunners' Premier League title dream has taken another dent after falling 13 points behind league leaders Liverpool, which means the Champions League is their only hope for silverware.

And Kroenke has now arrived in the UK to give the North Londoners a pep talk ahead of a tough run of games.

The Arsenal chief has played a major role in helping the club push their way back up the table after years in the wilderness.

  • Ex-Spurs ace taunts Arsenal

Former Tottenham ace Ivan Perisic has taunted Arsenal ahead of their "big moment" in the Champions League.

PSV Eindhoven star Perisic claims the modern Gunners are "always missing something" - after going five years without silverware.

It’s going to be tough. They are a really, really good team, a young team with a good coach.

But over the last years they are always missing something to step up to win something.

I know we’re going to have a good chance to beat them.

I really believe in my team. Tactically we have to be at the top level to show something good against them.

  • Trossard Saudi interest

Arsenal ace Leandro Trossard is being lined up for a summer move to Saudi Arabia.

Trossard will only have a year left on his contract at the end of the season.

Al-Ittihad failed with a £30million bid to sign the versatile forward in September after the summer transfer window had closed.

And reports claim Saudi bosses will return to snap up the Belgium international with a fresh offer soon.

  • Gunners hold Kimmich talks

Arsenal have held talks with Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich over a stunning free transfer.

Kimmich is set to leave Bayern when his contract expires this coming June.

According to Sky Germany, the Gunners have already initiated contact with the midfielder over a move to the Emirates.

The Germany international is interested in the Premier League but could yet opt for an offer from Paris Saint-Germain.

  • Sesko release clause revealed

RB Leipzig star and Arsenal transfer target Benjamin Sesko will be available for £66million this summer.

That poses as a relatively attainable price for Sesko ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

And reports claim the striker's asking price won't be raised come June.

But the Gunners face competition from other teams, including Premier League rivals Manchester United, for the Slovenia international's signature.

  • Barcelona offered Partey deal

Barcelona have reportedly been offered Thomas Partey on a free transfer.

The midfielder is out of contract this summer.

And Sport claims he is now in Barca’s sights.

The Spaniards have been offered a deal by the player’s agent but any move depends on Partey’s wage demands.

  • Gunners line up Coman

Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Kingsley Coman.

The French winger has been a key player for Bayern Munich.

But the Germans are ready to move him on after Michael Olise took charge of the right flank.

And Bild claims Arsenal are looking to make an offer in a bid to strengthen their front line.

  • Arsenal potential XI vs PSV

Arsenal are set to stick with Mikel Merino up top against PSV.

The Dutch side take on the Gunners in the Champions League tonight.

And Mikel Arteta is expected to continue with Merino as his striker in the absence of several forwards.

Is this how Arsenal will look tonight?
