JEREMY Clarkson has revealed he was once thrown in jail after being arrested by French police.
The telly legend, 64, opened up about his ordeal overseas when he was arrested in France - all because of a slug.

Viewers learned about the bizarre incident in the latest series of Clarkson’s Farm, which dropped on Prime Video on Friday.
Fans were left in stitches as the star recounted how the slimy situation with the unsuspecting creature somehow landed him in a French jail.
The former Top Gear host now spends his days tackling the highs and lows of life at Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire.
Jeremy said: "I once had to go to prison in France because of a slug.

“True story. I went to a restaurant called La Pomme d'Amour and there was a slug in my lettuce.
"The man was so apologetic. He said: ‘You can drink as much as you like on the house’.
“I was only 19 so I thought: ‘I will then!’ And I did. I was arrested a bit later because I was a bit wobbly.
"I was trying to explain to the policeman that I'd eaten a slug and the man had given me a lot of drink.

“But I couldn't think what the French for slug was. I said: ‘Je mange un escargot sans maison’.
“They just thought: ‘This man is definitely paralytic’. I got thrown into prison because I didn't know the French for slug.”

Clarkson's Farm follows the former Grand Tour host as he attempts to run his 1,000-acre farm in Oxfordshire.

Who is Clarkson's Farm star Kaleb Cooper?
Hailing from Chipping Norton, farmer Kaleb Cooper shot to fame by appearing in Prime Video series Clarkson's Farm.
The hit show follows Jeremy Clarkson in his journey managing Diddly Squat Farm - which he'd owned since 2008.
Born and bred in the area, Kaleb has become Jeremy's right-hand man and sort of farming mentor.
Viewers have watched the pair light-heartedly 'clash' - with Kaleb usually ridiculing Jeremy's efforts.
Three series have aired - with a fourth on the way - significantly raising Kaleb's public profile.

However, viewers were left horrified after a "psycho pig" attacked Kaleb in episode three - leaving him with a nasty injury.
They were trying to deal with one particularly difficult pig that lives in Diddly Squat.
Jeremy remarked: "I remembered that my knees hurt and I was paying everyone's wages, so I decided to leave the youngsters to deal with psycho pig."
Kaleb and Harriet tried to use plastic boards as they attempted to round up the pig, which was named Harvey, but to no avail.
However, the duo eventually got themselves into a more productive position where they were able to close in.
Speaking to the porker, Kaleb exclaimed: "You're not f***ing getting off."
However, Harvey then rammed the yellow board into the leg of the popular farming personality.
He fumed in response: "You'll break my rib, man. This is just f***ing brute force."
Once they eventually moved Harvey into the horsebox, Kaleb was left reeling.
He remarked to Harriet: "That board went straight into my rib."
Harriet seemed concerned as she responded with just two words" "Not good."

Kaleb then commented that he needed a form of treatment for the swelling.
He added: "I need a bag of peas. It cures everything."
