STRANGER Things season four isn’t here yet, although fingers are crossed for a July drop (please, Netflix!), but the show is keeping fans guessing by teasing new angles for the upcoming series.
Posting a photo to Twitter, the show’s writers revealed a list of all the films the team had been watching and discussing for inspiration.
The photo shows a huge whiteboard of film names from the 80s, 90s, and 00s, including such classics as Twister, Paddington 2, The Blair Witch Project, and Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey.
Understandably fans are losing their minds as they attempt to guess which way the new series might go.
One wrote: “Diverse AF”
And a second added: “These are the most random movies. I don’t know where Season 4 is going but I like it.”
While another asked: “Can you give us some enlightenment on how the conversation turns from "The Blair Witch Project" to "Paddington 2"? I want to see the stream of thought there.”
Matt and Ross Duffer, the creative masterminds behind the show, have always drawn on a glossary of cinematic DNA to influence Stranger Things and it seems the next series will be no exception.
If you haven’t seen series three yet, look away now.
At the end of the season finale it looked like all hope was lost as Hopper was killed in the blast that destroyed the Upside Down world.
However, in the trailer for the next instalment fans were thrilled to see the former police detective working on a railway line in Russia.

Shawn Levy, the producer of Stranger Things revealed they didn’t know what would happen at the end of the fourth season.
He said: “The truth is we're definitely going four seasons and there's very much the possibility of a fifth” and added that “Beyond that, it becomes I think very unlikely".
The show's creators, the Duffer brothers said of the return: "Although it’s not all good news for our American; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human...and other."
They added: "Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime, pray for the American."
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly the said: "[Season four is] going to open up a little bit...not necessarily in terms of scale, in terms of special effects, but open up in terms of allowing plotlines into areas outside of Hawkins.
