Cold Feet fans left shocked as Pete KILLS himself… but all is not as it seems
John Thomson's character has been dealing with depression throughout the series

COLD Feet fans literally faced a cliffhanger during Monday nights episode - as Pete Gifford flung himself off a rock face.
The character - played brilliantly by John Thomson in the ITV series - has been struggling with depression, and on Monday it all became too much for him.
His daughter had discovered he wasn't her real dad, and as he drove his taxi, the faces and voices of his children and wife Jenny (Fay Ripley) appeared on the seats around him, as well as a version of himself.
Pulling over at the side of the road, Pete climbed out of his car and headed to the edge, looking over to show the sheer drop below.
With a look of anguish on his face, the camera moved around the character and viewers were left to watch in horror as he spread his arms and toppled forward off the edge of the cliff.

The camera lingered on the empty space for a moment before panning over the edge to show Pete lying on the rocks below, blood pouring from his body.
Even more gruesome was the following shot, which gave a close up of Pete's glazed expression as he lay crumpled and lifeless on the ground.
But thankfully for fans of the show, which returned earlier this year after a 13 year absence, could breathe a sigh of relief as the camera returned to the top of the cliff to show Pete looking down on the vision of himself below.
One viewer wrote: "#ColdFeet was so tense for a moment I genuinely stopped breathing. Someone give @JohnnyThomson2 a medal already" while another added: "OMG that was heart stopping, really thrt Pete had jumped for a min...great episode, didn't want it to end tonight, back to its best.[sic]"
Another fan of the show wrote: "That was ingenious but cruel making us think that Pete was dead! Sad & happy in just a few seconds" and another added: "I can't handle this rollercoaster. I legit thought Pete was dead and was clutching my heart #ColdFeet".
Pete was jolted out of his suicidal thoughts by his phone ringing, with wife Jenny telling him to come home, and as is the way with the hit show, viewers were sent on a rollercoaster of emotions, as minutes later, they joyously saw Pete reunited with his children.
As the whole gang attended a gig by Pete and Jenny's son, the band invited the musician's old man up on stage to play the drums like he did back in the day.
Initially reluctant, Pete joined his son and his friends to play 'Teenage Kicks' and his friends and family got to watch with pride as he relished in the moment behind the drum kit.
Fans loved the heartwarming ending to the episode with one writing: "OMG! My heart was totally in my mouth - thought Pete had gone & done it! Amazing episode", while another added: "Oh my god, heart in mouth, fabulous, fabulous".
A fellow viewer wrote: "Pete's storyline in #ColdFeet has been the most accurate creative portrayal of depression I've ever seen on tv."
